Laser Rejuvenation

Achieve a new level of clarity with MicroLaserPeel

MicroLaserPeel

MicroLaser Peel (MLP) is an in office laser treatment to remove the outermost layer of the skin. This outer cell layer contributes to an aged and tired look to the skin as well as blemishes and pigment irregularities that occur as a result of environmental damage. Following a MLP, your skin will look more vibrant and have an improved tone and texture.

How long does a MicroLaserPeel last?

The benefits from a MLP can last for a very long time if you follow the after care program suggested as well as adhere to sun protection year round.

What conditions can be treated with MicroLaserPeel?

Areas for treatment are typically the face and neck although there are patients who will see benefit from having their chest and hands treated as well. You will see improvement in fine lines, skin texture, visible pores and pigment irregularities.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients require a single initial treatment however this can vary based on the degree of skin damage. Following a proper skin care regimen, using sun block, avoiding smoking and staying well hydrated will be important to maintaining healthy looking skin. Maintenance treatments are usually suggested yearly.

What are the benefits of a MicroLaserPeel?

An MLP provides a rejuvenated appearance through minimal to full epidermal skin peeling which takes place over three to five days following the procedure. Areas of your face that had superficial discolouration, sun freckles or “sun spots” as well as fine lines will be minimized. The tone and texture of your skin will be improved with a brighter and fresher appearance.

When will I see the benefits?

Following an initial three to five days you will be able to see the benefits of your treatment. Depending on the depth of the treatment, ongoing collagen remodelling will continue for several months.

Will I feel the laser treatment?

The area to be treated will be numbed before the procedure with a topical freezing cream to ensure your comfort. Most patients tolerate the treatment quite well, with minimal discomfort.

How long is the procedure?

The numbing cream is placed on the treatment area for approximately 45 minutes. The procedure itself can take up to another 30 to 45 minutes. Often patients that have the microlaser peel also have a profractional treatment which would add an additional 15 minutes to the total treatment time.

When can I return to work or regular activities?

Most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 3-4 days. At this point you will be able to wear make up.  We advise avoiding exercise and sweating for the first three days.

Are there special treatment instructions that I need to know before and after my treatment?

Patients that wish to undergo a microlaser peel should not have taken Accutane within the past 6 months. If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know. Prior to your treatment avoid the following products, Retin A, AHA, BHA products, benzoyl peroxide or any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating to your skin for 7 days.
