:: Ultrashape™ Body Contouring
Ultrashape™ is a new technology for the non-surgical removal of fat cells. Recently introduced into Canada, Ultrashape™ is presently used in over 45 countries worldwide. More than 50,000 treatments have been performed with no reported significant adverse events.
Ultrashape™ uses ultrasound technology to disrupt fat cells. The contents of the fat cells are then taken up by the body and transported to the liver where they are burned off as energy. It is important to maintain a low fat diet for several weeks after treatment so that the body burns off the fatty acids released from the fat cells and does not store them as new sites of fat.
Ultrashape™ is a safe in-office procedure. It is relatively painless and does not require the administration of any medications. There is no downtime following your treatment and you are able to immediately resume normal activities. A typical treatment takes 60-90 minutes depending upon the size of the area being treated. Generally, three treatments are recommended one month apart to achieve maximum results, although patients may achieve their desired contour within fewer treatments.
Commons areas that respond well to Ultrashape™ include the abdomen, waist, hips, flanks and thighs. Other areas that may be treated include the arms and buttocks. Good candidates for Ultrashape™ are men and women with localized areas of fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise. Although results will vary from person to person, measurable results are often in the range of 3-7 centimetres (1-3 inches) per area treated.
Ultrashape™ should not be performed in women who are pregnant or in patients with a known underlying liver disorder.
If you are interested in Ultrashape™, it is important to have an assessment of the areas to be treated to ensure that you are a good candidate and that you fully understand what can reasonably be achieved from this non-surgical alternative to liposuction.
