Botox and Dysport

BOTOX Cosmetic® is one of the most popular procedures performed at our office because it is effective, and has high patient satisfaction with a proven safety track record.

Botox and Dysport are both types of injectable neuromodulators that are commonly used for aesthetic purposes. They work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Botox and Dysport can be used to treat a variety of areas, including forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows (“the elevenses”).

How long does it take?

Treatment time for BOTOX® injections is usually 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated. Discomfort is minimal and there is no downtime required.

When will I have to repeat the treatment?

The effects typically last for several months before the treatment needs to be repeated.

How are Botox and Dysport different?

They are similar in many ways, but the composition difference affects these properties:

Spreading ability: Dysport has a slightly thinner consistency than Botox, which allows it to spread more easily. This can make it a better choice for larger treatment areas, such as the forehead.

Onset and duration of results: Dysport tends to have a faster onset than Botox, with results appearing within 2-5 days compared to 4-7 days for Botox. However, Botox may last slightly longer, with results lasting up to 3-6 months compared to 2-4 months for Dysport.
