:: Preparing for Treatment

The following suggestions will prepare you for the treatment and enhance the results.
  • Come to your treatment with as little makeup as possible.
  • To reduce the risk of bruising, we ask that you refrain from using blood thinning medications such as aspirin-based products, anti-inflammatories such as Advil or Motrin, vitamin E, herbal supplements such as ginko, ginseng, garlic pills, echinachea, primrose oil, St. John’s Wort, etc.
  • Red wine may also thin your blood and should be avoided 3 days before an injection treatment.
  • It is preferable to wait at least five days before or five days after having a chemical peel to proceed with an injection procedure.
  • Do not book a facial massage or dental appointment on the same day as your treatment.
  • You may work out prior to your treatment but must refrain from exercising for at least 4 hours afterwards.
  • You should have something to eat or drink prior to the treatment since you should limit your facial movements for four hours afterwards. This is especially important for those clients who have lip enhancements or smile lines treated.

Anesthesia
If you are having a lip enhancement treatment, it is suggested to have a dental block so you are more comfortable during the treatment. This is performed the same as in the dentists office but the freezing will only last for 20 – 30 minutes.

There are several topical creams available which, when used, will numb the skin so the treatment is more comfortable. The cream must be applied 20-30 minutes prior to the treatment and is suggested before treating facial lines.
