:: The Consultation Process

The consultation provides an opportunity for you to explain to your doctor the specific issues that concern you and for you to begin to become educated about the surgical options available. The consultation also provides an opportunity for you to ensure that you are comfortable with and confident in the surgeon and for the surgeon to determine if you are a good candidate for cosmetic surgery. For example, Dr. Brown will evaluate your general health and explain which surgical approaches are best suited for you, fully disclosing the benefits as well as the risks and potential complications involved. This will allow you to make a well-informed decision as to whether or not surgery is in your best interest.

Prior to your appointment, it is a good idea to prepare a list of questions relating to credentials and the surgery itself. We encourage you to attend the consultation with your spouse or significant other, as their input and opinions may prove valuable. After the consultation, Dr. Brown will encourage you to follow-up with any subsequent questions.
